Please note that both internet browsers actually share the same window display, which includes a document pane for viewing PDF documents and a navigation pane with bookmarks related to the document. Meanwhile, the command bar above the window provides the tools that facilitate viewing of the documents.

(1)  Using Bookmarks

The bookmarks create a navigational structure and a brief outline of the Staff Handbook because the bookmarks represent headings that link to the corresponding sections. For example, to go to the section "Personnel Records", users are only required to click the bookmark "Personnel Records" in the bookmarks palette. 

The width of the bookmarks palette can also be adjusted by dragging its right border.

(2)  Finding Words

In addition to using the bookmarks, users can use the "Find" command to find a word / phrase in the Staff Handbook. 

To find a word using the "Find" command, click the "Find" button ( Icon "Find" ) in the command bar. Then enter the text to of the word that needs to be found in the text box and select search options as appropriate in the dialogue box.

To find the next occurrence of the text, press the "Find Again" button ( Icon "Find Again" ).

(3)  Setting Magnification

Users can specify a particular view of a page by setting the magnification provided in the command bar.

The "Zoom In Tool" ( Zoom In Tool ) allows user to increase magnification. What users need to do is to drag and draw a rectangle around the area to be magnified. 

(4)  Resize Display

To resize the display of a page, users may either do one of the followings:

To resize the page to fit entirely in the window, click the "Fit In Window" button ( Icon "Fit in Window" ).

To resize the page to fit the width of the window, click the "Fit Width" button ( Icon "Fit Width" ). Part of the page may be out of view but it is recommended for better viewing.

(5)  Paging through Document

Acrobat Reader also renders buttons in the command bar for paging through the Staff Handbook.

To go to the next page, click the "Next Page" button ( Icon "Next Page" ) in the command bar. 

To go to the previous page, click the "Previous Page" button ( Icon "Previous Page" ) in the command bar.

To go to the first page, click the "First Page" button ( Icon "First Page" ).

To go to the last page, click the "Last Page" button ( Icon "Last Page" ). 

(6)  Retracing Viewing Path

After you have paged through documents or used navigational structures to browse the Staff Handbook, you can retrace your path and move back and forth. 

To retrace your path within a PDF document, click the "Go To Previous View" button ( Icon "Go To Previous View" ) in the command bar, or click the "Go To Next View" button ( Icon "Go to nex view" ). 

(7)  Saving and Printing

The "Save" ( Icon "save" ) and "Print" ( Icon "Print" ) commands that are commonly used are also available in Acrobat Reader.
